BONE ARTIST

「害獣として死んでいった鹿を

アートに昇華し、供養してあげたい」

という想いから、

鹿のツノを使用した作品の制作を始める。

「新しく生みだす（新生）=newborn」と

「骨=bone」を組み合わせた造語である。

"I want to sublimate a deer that died as a vermin into art and give it a memorial service."

With that in mind, I started making works using deer horns and bones.

It is a coined word that combines

"new born" and "bone".

Concept

「鹿のツノ」を間近で

見たことはあるだろうか。

雄鹿が持つシンボルであり、

唯一の武器である。

大きさや形に同じものはなく、

そのツノについた傷が生き様を物語る。

雄鹿は一年に一回、ツノを生やす。

生え変わりの時期、

ツノは根元からもげるように落ちる。

そしてまた、新しいツノが生えてくる。

ツノは常に「再生」を繰り返している。

私はそのツノの持つ唯一無二の形（個性）と

生命力に魅了された一人だ。

かつては、「神鹿（しんろく）」や

「白鹿（はくろく）」と呼ばれ、

神の使いとして扱われていた鹿。

その歴史は古く、

古事記にも登場するほどだ。

今も神の使いとして奈良や宮島では

数多くの鹿が保護されている。

一方、他地域では害獣として扱われ、

駆除対象になっている。

農作物を荒らしたり、

樹木の皮を食べて枯らしたりするからだ。

「神の使い」か「害獣」か。

同じ鹿なのに、

こんなにも境遇が違うことを憂い、

その死を無駄にせず、

「アート」に生まれ変わらせたい

と私は思った。

アートに昇華することで、

また神の使いのように崇められ、

大切にしてもらえるのではないか

と考えたからだ。

そして、それが害獣として死んだ鹿の

供養になればと思っている。

また、多くの人が骨に対して

「怖い」というイメージを持っている。

そのイメージを払拭したい。

骨は全人類が共通して持っているものだ。

アートを通して、自分にも骨があること、

そして、みんな（他人）にも骨があること、

見た目は違えど、

核の部分（骨）は同じなのだということに

気づいてほしい。

そして、骨には個体差がある。
その個体の「唯一無二（個性）」を

感じてほしい。

骨を身近に感じてもらうため、

ポップなペイントや装飾を施している。

Have you ever seen a "deer horn" up close?
It is a symbol of a stag and the only weapon.
Nothing is the same in size or shape, and the scratches on the horns tell the story of life.
The stag grows horns once a year.
At the time of re-growth, the horns fall off from the root.
And again, new horns grow from the root.
The horn is constantly repeating "regeneration".
I am one who was fascinated by the unique shape (individuality) and vitality.

In the past, deer were called "god deer" or "white deer" and were treated as messengers of the gods.
Its history is so old that it appears in Japan's oldest historical record.
Many deer are still protected in Nara and Miyajima as messengers of God.
On the other hand, it has been exterminated as a vermin in other areas.
This is because they ruin crops and eat the bark of trees to die.

Is it a "messenger of God" or a "harmful beast"?

Even though they are the same deer, I'm worried that the circumstances are so different.
I wanted to reborn as "art" without wasting that death.
By sublimating into art, he is worshiped like a messenger of God.
I thought it would be cherished.
And I hope it will be a memorial service for the deer who died as a vermin.

Also, many people have the image of being "scary" about bones.
I want to dispel that image.
Bones are common to all humankind.
Through art, I have bones, and everyone (others) has bones,
Notice that they look different, but the core is the same.
And there are individual differences in bones. I want you to feel the "uniqueness" of the individual. Pop paint and decorations are applied to make the bones feel closer.
